6 Smoothie Recipes
Peanut Butter Smoothie:
¼ cup peanut butter, chunky or smooth
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1 cup milk
Place all ingredients into blender and blend on high until just combined.
Orange Slush Smoothie:
1 can (6 ounce) Frozen Orange Juice
1 ½ cups milk
½ cup water
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
9-10 ice cubes
Blend all in blender.
Jello Smoothie:
½ cup prepared Jello-any flavor
½ cup milk
½ cup sherbet, flavor should match the jello favor
Mix in a blender. Top with whipped cream and colored sugar, if desired.
Sugar-Free Strawberry Smoothie:
1 8 ounce carton plain nonfat yogurt
¼ cup skim milk
3 packets Equal or Splenda (sugar substitute)
3 cups frozen strawberries
1 cup ice cubes
In a blender container combine yogurt, milk and Sugar substitute. With the blender running, add berries a few at a time through opening in lid. Blend until smooth, then add ice cubes one at a time through opening in lid, blending until slushy. Pour into glasses, makes 4 six-ounce servings.
Purple Cow:
¾ cup milk
1 ½ Tablespoon frozen grape juice concentrate
¼ cup vanilla yogurt
Combine ingredients in a container with lid and shake until well blended. Pour into a tall glass.
Pumpkin Smoothie:
1 ¾ cups pumpkin, canned, chilled
12 ounces evaporated skim m ilk, chilled
1 ½ cups orange juice
½ cup banana, sliced
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
Place all ingredients in blender and blend well. If desired, serve over ice and sprinkle with cinnamon.
